What 10,000 Sign Services Reveal About Houston

August 7, 2026

For our Boss Agents, the first half of 2026 reflects a market that remains active but increasingly competitive. Our data shows more new yard sign installations than during the same period last year, while signs remained active an average of 3.1 days longer. This is reinforced by the 14.5% increase in Yard Sign Removals, suggesting more homes were ultimately sold or taken off market.

While Houston homes may be taking slightly longer to sell, they’re also selling for more. The average Days on Market increased by two days year over year in June, according to the Houston Association of Realtors. Meanwhile, Redfin reported that Houston’s median sale price rose 1.4% to $350,000 during the three months ending May 2026. While buyers may be taking more time, Houston home values remain resilient. Together, these trends reinforce the importance of making every listing visible, maintaining its presence throughout a potentially longer selling period, and having a reliable system for managing signs as listings change.

GENERAL ANALYSIS

Our agent's performance does not point to a stalled Houston market thus far. On the contrary, it points to an active market operating on a slightly longer timeframe. These shifts track closely with what's happening across the Greater Houston market as a whole. HAR's June 2026 Housing Market Update reported single-family home sales up 3.5% year-over-year, with pending sales climbing 12.3%, pointing to a market where buyer interest is genuinely building, not just holding steady. That aligns with what we're seeing in our own internal data.

For real estate agents, that means every listing needs a marketing presence built to last, from the day the sign goes up until the day it comes down. Professional signage remains one of the most consistent ways to keep a property visible throughout that journey.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Buyers have more purchasing power, more inventory to choose from, and more time to make a confident decision, and sellers are still seeing results, just on an extended timeline. Heading into the back half of the year, that balance is worth watching: as the traditionally slower fall and winter months arrive, will buyers keep showing up, or will this deliberate pace stretch even further?
